๐ŸŽดBattle Gameplay

Once you've formed your party, it's time to battle. Battling is turn-based and is done via cards.

Cards

All Kaiju come with their own skills and abilities, most of which are represented by their playing cards. The playing cards that any given Kaiju has are determined by their individual character identity and their class identity.

A Kaijuโ€™s stats directly affect how powerful their cards are. eg: Higher strength = stronger attack cards. Higher magic = stronger magic cards.

Starter Decks

Each NFT character has a starter deck of four cards. This starter deck contains cards that are inherent to your character or class and cannot be removed from your character or traded as separate assets.

At the beginning of every run, your deck consists of only the starter cards of your 3 Kaiju, giving you a total of 12 cards at the beginning of each run.

STARTER DECKS CONTAIN

1 basic attack (same for all characters)

1 basic block (same for all characters)

1 species card (randomly assigned at mint from a species card pool)

1 class card (randomly assigned at mint from a class card pool)

You can see a characterโ€™s starter cards in their NFT metadata on marketplaces https://app.treasure.lol/games/kaiju-cards?tab=collections

Our community is very knowledgeable about characters and card pools, and have assisted many new members with picking out Kaiju that are fit for them from the marketplace. If you want some help navigating the market, joining our Discord is a great place to start!

Drafting

As you progress through a run, you're given multiple draft options beyond your starter deck. The draft pool is determined by the Kaiju you've brought into the run. Sometimes you get to draft one card, sometimes you get to draft three. The cards that you choose have profound affect on your playstyle and the deck you build is what generates team synergy.

The are 2 types of drafting options

  • Single card draft

  • Pack draft

    • Pack draft lets you choose 3 cards that are thematically or mechanically related and add them to your deck. Currently pack drafts happen in the following rooms: after 3rd room of each run, after the mini-boss (Mimic), 5th room of each run, and after the 7th room of each run.

Path Selection on the Map

Each day at midnight UTC, the gameplay map changes. There are several different room types to choose from.

  • Enemy encounters

    • They increase in difficulty as the map progresses

    • There's a mini-boss on most maps and a final boss on all maps

  • Rest sites

    • Choose from a variety of beneficial options. Heal your Kaiju, bring one back to life, or remove cards from you deck.

  • Event rooms

    • Talk with a Good Earth citizen and gain a souvenir. There are over a dozen souvenirs, each with distinct effects on individual Kaiju or your entire party.

Each room has something to offer you. Paths with more enemy encounters are often riskier, but offer more perks in the form of event rooms and rest sites. Choose your path to the final boss wisely based on your team comp, deck, skill level, and character health, and you might just be rewarded with a win.
